Scientific References
D-Galactose (D-G) increased the blood level of harmful lipid metabolites: MDA (131%) and Lipechrome Pigment (249%). After injected with EPS and EPF, both MDA and Lipechrome Pigment level of treated mice were decreased. (See the table below)
Peroxide and free radicals oxidize metals, turn the color of vegetables and fruit brown, and age organic materials. Free radicals can get into the human body through breathing. Free radicals damage the cell membrance and inhibit normal cell proliferation, thus decreasing resistance to disease. Anti-oxidants neutralize free radicals. Even though anti-oxidants exist in the human diet, the amount is not sufficient to prevent these changes. EPS and EPF can improve lipid metabolism, decrease MDA and Lipechrome Pigment level, thus minimizing the damage caused by per-oxide and free radicals.
