D-Galactose (D-G) damages the spleen and decreases white blood cell count. After subcutaneous injection with D-G, the T and B lymphocytes of mice declined to 29% and 24% of control respectively. The D-G treated mice were injected with EPS, EPF and LBP. The numbers of both T and B lymphocytes were significantly increased.
